Broken Instrument Removal - A Case Report |

Paper presents a technique for the removal of broken instruments in the root canal system. The technique involves a combination of hand instruments and engine driven instrument. Hand instruments are used to help bypass the broken instruments while engine driven instruments help in loosening or removal of the instruments from canal system. Advantages are of course conservative approach to save the tooth. Improves operator’s and patient confidence, avoid psychological trauma of surgical intervention. |

Comparison Of Shear Bond Strength Of 5th Generation Dentin Bonding Agents : Invitro Study |

Several one bottle dentin bonding systems that combine primer and adhesive resin into single solution have been introduced. These materials have received considerable attention from dental profession, since clinicians often select the material which provides good bond strength and that are easiest to use. The purpose of this study was to determine the dentin shear bond strength produced with three fifth generation dentin bonding agents (Group-I Prime and Bond NT, Group II-Single bond, Group III-Syntac single component). Shear bond strength analysis was done for three groups containing ten samples in each group using three different adhesive systems. The results showed that Group I and Group II are significantly higher than Group III. However, there is no significant difference between Group I and Group II. |

Analysis Of Apical Leakage Following Post Preparation |

The objective of the present study was to assess the apical seal after removal of partial portion of root canal filling material for post and core preparation. In this study, 20 teeth were subjected to dowel space preparation after obturation by lateral condensation method and Rolled gutta percha technique. Autoradiographs were prepared to assess the degree of apical leakage by isotope penetration. On comparison, isotope penetration results obtained, were statistically highly significant, indicating that lateral condensation of gutta percha along with Zinc oxide eugenol as a sealer provided satisfactory sealing of the root canal, causing least disturbance at the apical seal. |
